Cell Phone Coverage Requirement
iGlucose devices require a cellular data connection in order to transmit readings to your care team. However, there is no cost for the cellular service used by iGlucose devices. If you normally use a cell phone at your home and get adequate coverage, then the devices should generally have no trouble connecting and transmiting readings.
However, if you live in a location that does not have adequate cellular coverage, then your device may be unable to transmit readings to your care team. You may wish to consider one or more of the following options:
- Consult your care team about other options for providing your readings, such as manual entry in ChronicCareIQ.
- If you can find a location where you are able to get adequate cellular coverage, simply turn the iGlucose device on and it should transmit any readings that have not yet been sent.
- If you currently have cell phone service, your cell service provider (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc) may be able to provide a device for your home that will boost the cellular signal and give you better coverage within your home. You will need to inquire directly with your cell service provider.
